19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid year, managing just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with former trainer Cervara.
Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since March of that year.
The win also means he has secured twenty-one titles at 21 various tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was over.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an improved service.
He came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five games to go ahead.
The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his maiden tour title, seized the initiative to force a final set.
He saved four early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner secured the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
